Osaka Tenmangu is the Tenjin of Kita, not a mall annex. It enshrines Sugawara no Michizane at 2-1-8 Tenjinbashi. Students still come for exams. The city comes for Tenjin Matsuri on 24–25 July: land rites on the 24th, the boat procession and fireworks on the 25th. That festival uses Tenjinbashisuji and the Okawa. It is an event, not a reason to type the shrine as a street. Grounds stay open for worship. Confirm office hours and goshuin on osakatemmangu.or.jp. Phone 06-6353-0025. Photography on the precinct follows the shrine PDF, not blog rules. Minamimorimachi is the usual station. Walk south on Tenjinbashisuji and turn at the second crossing. Pair the shrine with the shopping street, not with Dotonbori.
