The 5th Osaka Castle Festival (大阪・お城フェス2026) brings castle PR booths from across Japan, a try-on armor display, paid history forums, a "Nobunaga no Yabo" game event, and the All Japan Castle Photo Contest awards into Grand Front Osaka's underground convention center for two days in August 2026.

New Year Hatsumode at Tsuyunoten Shrine
露天神社（お初天神） 初詣
Hatsumode — the first shrine visit of the New Year — at Tsuyunoten Shrine (Ohatsu Tenjin), Umeda's historic local shrine famous for the Sonezaki Shinju love-suicide story, tucked in the commercial district just minutes from Osaka Station.

Tsuyunoten Shrine's Setsubun festival — bean-throwing ceremony, oni parade through the Sonezaki shopping street, free udon and sacred sake, and a goma fire ritual.

The Umekita area's signature winter illumination — ~480,000 champagne-gold LED bulbs light up Grand Front Osaka, Grand Green Osaka, and the ginkgo tree-lined avenues between them.

~500 Santas parade through the Umekita area, handing out presents and picking up litter — a community cleanup + Christmas celebration hybrid. Open to the public by registration.

A seasonal outdoor ice rink at Grand Front Osaka's Umekita Plaza — "Umeda Ice Rink Tsurun-tsurun." Open through winter break, Christmas, New Year, and Valentine's Day, surrounded by the champagne gold illumination.
OSAKA Hikari no Renaissance
OSAKA光のルネサンス
One of the two core programs of Osaka Hikari no Kyoen — the Nakanoshima illumination. The historic Central Public Hall facade is illuminated, the riverside glows, and special illumination cruises depart from Rose Port.
BLUE LOCK Movie Collaboration at Umeda Sky Building

The live-action BLUE LOCK film (opens 7 August 2026) is marked at Umeda Sky Building with collaboration tickets, a random sticker pack, limited heart locks, cafe SKY40 drinks, plus character panels and costume display through 3 September.

TOYO TIRES Downtown BMX 2026
The fourth Downtown BMX at Umekita Plaza mixes BMX Racing and Freestyle on a temporary urban course, 29 August 2026, 18:30–21:00. Watching is free. Prize money is ¥1.5 million (men), ¥1 million (women), ¥4.35 million total.
World Kawaii Exhibition 2026
世界のかわいいもの展
Hankyu Umeda’s 9F event hall gathers “oshi kawaii,” niche “numa kawaii,” and chill kawaii goods from 2–7 September 2026. Korean pajama and custom-embroidery vendors make their first appearance. Free to enter.
26th Hankyu Sake Brewery Festival
第26回 阪急蔵元まつり
Forty-four sake breweries from across Japan gather at Hankyu Umeda Hall for three days, 4–6 September 2026. The 26th edition is themed “sake rice × brewery,” highlighting Aiyama, Miyamanishiki, Yukimegami and Omachi. Free entry; tasting 20+.
Sylvanian Families Exhibition 40th

A paid, timed-entry exhibition marking 40 years of Sylvanian Families (launched 1985) at Hankyu Umeda Gallery and Art Stage, 9–28 September 2026. Advance tickets on eplus from ¥2,000 adults / ¥1,000 children; same-day prices ¥200 more.
Winnie the Pooh OH MY CAFE at HEP FIVE
「くまのプーさん」OH MY CAFE in HEP FIVE
A Winnie the Pooh 100th-anniversary café occupies BOX cafe & space on HEP FIVE’s 7th floor from 10 September to 18 October 2026. Themed plates run about ¥1,390–¥1,790; drinks ¥990. Reservations opened 5 August (¥770 deposit).
Hankyu Autumn Hokkaido Products Fair 2026
秋の北海道物産大会 2026
Hankyu Umeda’s largest-in-years Autumn Hokkaido Products Fair fills the 9th floor from 22 September to 5 October 2026 (closed 29 September). First half marks 100 years of New Chitose Airport food; second half launches HOKKAIDO MILK PARK cheese. Free to enter.
4th Nippon Seikasai (Japan Produce Festival) 2026
第4回 にっぽん青果祭 2026
The fourth Japan Produce Festival brings nationwide fruit, vegetables and regional foods to Grand Green Osaka Step Plaza and Umeda Sky Building Wonder Square on 26–27 September 2026, 11:00–18:00. Free entry. The April 2026 third edition drew about 100,000 visitors over two days.
