About This Event / イベントについて
The 38th Kita-ku Civic Carnival fills Ogimachi Park, the front of Kita Ward Office, and Kita Civic Center on Sunday 18 October 2026, 09:30 to 16:00. Osaka City lists it as this year’s Kita kumin matsuri. Theme: people in Kita meet and the circle gets wider. Chair is Hanazaki Noriyuki. About 20,000 people come in a normal year. This is a ward sports day that turns into a neighbourhood festival. It is not a mall fair at Osaka Station.
The morning is a neighbourhood sports day. Temma Junior High band opens at 09:30. New this year: a disaster-prevention bucket relay for grade 4 and up at 10:10. Toddler races at 10:50 take same-day walk-ins at the gate from 10:30. Bring a child who can run a short course and you do not need a prior form. Afternoon is the ward festival. Satsuki Nursery drum corps, taiko, Sugakita Elementary junior band, then folk dance. New at 14:55: Ogimachi Elementary children carry a mikoshi. A Tenjin Festival women’s mikoshi follows at 15:15. Shop-association raffle 15:30. Close 16:00. Raffle tickets go out 12:30 to 14:30. One card per person at information if you want the stamp rally, 09:30 to 15:00, five points across the three venues.
Kita Civic Center 2F holds Gotouchi Marche in Ogimachi all day. Kochi, Hyogo, Tokushima, six Tohoku prefectures, Kumamoto recovery goods, plus a timed vegetable sale. That hall is the indoor fallback if it rains. Keihan mini train 10:00 to 16:00, last boarding 15:30, and a mini fire engine sit in front of the ward office. Red Hurricanes Osaka players run rugby drills under the pool 10:00 to 15:00 with Yodogawa Rugby School White Knights. Cerezo Osaka kick-target 10:00 to 15:00 has no first-team players. Do not wait for autographs. Earthquake truck 14:00 to 16:00, last 15:30, at the park office. Nineteen neighbourhood tents (A to S) cover Kita from Oyodo to Horikawa. Eat there if you want the local stall, not a chain lunch at LUCUA.
Same day, Kantele Ogimachi Square next door runs Yume Kita WORK×EXPO 2026, a job-experience booth for children. Rain keeps the marche in the civic center and the job fair indoors. Walk or use Metro Ogimachi or JR Temma, about five minutes. Umeda is one stop west on the Sakaisuji or Tanimachi lines, then a walk. Do not treat this as an Osaka Station City extra. Bikes use the marked temporary park only. Kids Plaza Osaka is next door and is a separate ticketed museum. If you only have the morning, take the sports day and the mini train. If you only have the afternoon, take the mikoshi at 14:55 and the raffle. The city list also puts Chuo, Taisho, Tennoji and other wards on the same Sunday. Kita’s site is Ogimachi, not Naniwa Palace ruins and not Nagai.

Metro Ogimachi exit, or JR Temma about 5 minutes. Do not bring a bike unless you will use the marked temporary park.
