Tsuyu Tenjinsha (Ohatsu Tenjin)About Tsuyu Tenjinsha (Ohatsu Tenjin)
Tsuyu Tenjinsha is older than the offices around Sonezaki. It is the ujigami of Sonezaki and Umeda. People call it Ohatsu Tenjin because Chikamatsu Monzaemon wrote Sonezaki Shinju from a 1703 double suicide in the shrine grove. The heart ema and the bronze of Ohatsu and Tokubei are why tourists stop. Locals still come for ordinary prayer, hatsumode, and the flea market. Grounds 06:00–24:00. Shrine office 09:00–18:00, phone 06-6311-0895. Prayer bookings 09:00–17:00. The flea market is the 1st Friday (January skipped) and the 3rd Sunday, about 30–40 stalls, cancelled for rites or rain. Confirm tuyutenjin.com/market/. Higashi-Umeda and Kitashinchi are five minutes. Ohatsu Tenjin-dori is the shopping street on the south edge. This is a shrine. Do not type it as a mall.
