Shouichii Fukunaga Inari Daimyojin is a Shinto shrine perched on the rooftop of the Osaka Ekimae Daiichi Building at 1-3 Umeda, Kita Ward, Osaka. The shrine dates back roughly 600 years to the Nanbokucho period, when a local resident named Watanabe Juro enshrined an Inari deity as the guardian of his family. The shrine occupies a fox mound (kitsunezuka) on the north-east corner of the twelfth-floor rooftop, accessed via the external deck from the elevator hall. It features a vivid vermilion torii gate, sacred fox statue (komainu) and a purifying water basin (temizuya). The building lobby displays an information plate with a guide showing shrine hours from 10:00am to 4:30pm. The shrine is popularly known as yakezu-no-inari (the inari that refused to burn) because it miraculously survived the Great Kita Fire of 1909 while the surrounding district was destroyed.
