The Sky Building Christmas people photograph from the street is free. Wonder Square, the 1F plaza of Shin-Umeda City, holds the 25 m LED mapping tree and the huts. You do not need the Floating Garden ticket to stand under it. The paid deck is a second, smaller programme with a different name.
Stand in the plaza before you buy 2,000 yen
Sekisui House Umeda Operations set 13 November to 25 December 2026. Official name: UMEDA SKY BUILDING Christmas 2026. Theme on the ground: THE STARLIGHT TOWN, a story drawn by Emi Webber around a black cat called Noel. Theme on the deck: STARLIT CHRISTMAS. The split matters. Tourist copy still treats the arch and the 173 m walkway as the whole winter. Locals who work in Kita walk to the plaza, eat, watch one show, and leave without going up.
Tree lights 12:00–23:00. Market 12:00–22:00, last order 21:30. November artist programmes start at 18:00. From 1 December the six-minute STARLIGHT TOWN mapping starts at 17:00, on the hour and the half hour, last show 21:30. Staff will push the plaza into a one-way loop when it fills. That is the only gate. There is no ticket booth for the tree.
When the deck is the right spend
Buy the Floating Garden ticket if you want height or the 40F decoration. Adults 2,000 yen. Ages 4 to elementary 500 yen. Hours 09:30–22:30, last entry 22:00. The dedicated entrance sits on the ground outside the office cores. The east and west office lifts will turn you around. Sunset and the first hour of dark are the reason to pay. Midday on the open roof is wind and a pale city.
San-kyu on 39F sells Christmas dinner on 23–25 December in two seatings, 17:30–19:30 and 20:00–22:00. Window seats start at 17,000 yen for the Noel course and climb to 29,000 yen for the tail-fin Carol. Some Stardust seatings bundle a garden ticket. That is a restaurant night, not a way to sneak the tree. Takimi Koji on B1F keeps a Showa-style street Christmas on the same dates, also free, if the plaza wind is too much.
How this sits against the station
Osaka Station City's winter, when JR West posts it, happens on 5F above the tracks. Grand Front's gold trees sit on the north side of the station. The Sky Building is the third winter, an eight-minute walk past Grand Front into Oyodo. If you try to do all three in one night you will spend the evening in corridors. Pick the plaza show or the park walk. Add the deck only if you still want height after the tree.
